Basset Hounds should not be left at home alone, if however, there is no option a secondary pet should be considered as Bassets are by nature pack animals, this second pet will keep your Basset away from trouble. Basset Hounds can be excitable when meeting new people. You may not be aware by their appearance but Bassets do require regular exercise. They have a natural endurance and enjoy long walks. Hide and seek is also a great task for the Basset as it allows them to use their powerful nose.
